Anaya Crow
Anaya first discovered the physical practice of yoga asana in 2007, but it wasn’t until returning to therapy after a nervous system breakdown that she learned the true power & gift of yoga.
In 2018, two years after the breakdown that landed her in an ER unable to speak, Anaya became a yoga teacher. She read the book The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel Van Der Kolk, learned that trauma is stored in the cells of the body, & how the practice of yoga is an incredible modality for trauma recovery. Upon learning this, she attended & completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training with an Ashtanga base that emphasizes alignment & spent the next year mentoring under a senior yoga instructor. She then completed her 300 hour yoga teacher training in 2019, with an emphasis on therapeutic yogic management to help people address their specific health imbalances. Shortly after becoming a 500 RYT, Anaya received her trauma-informed yoga certification & completed sound healing training. It is her calling to support people through grief, trauma recovery, & in building healthier relationships with themselves, loved ones, & with their community. Anaya is also a certified Recovery Support Specialist for mental health & addiction support. Her classes are designed to foster a sense of safety, empowerment, & community.
Anaya offers private sessions, family or small group sessions, workshops, trainings, retreats, special events, & wellness travel experiences. Yoga has been instrumental in her own process of recovery. It has helped her to be a better mother, wife, & overall human being. She considers it an honor to support others on their journey, too.
In addition to yoga, Anaya loves hiking, dancing, traveling, singing, learning new things, & mostly, spending time with her husband & son.
