Our Story

Greenville Yoga begin in 2005 as North Main Yoga. It was created following a move from Los Angeles to the Carolinas. Greenville Yoga was brought to life to bring the style of yoga (breath initiated movement) to their new home. What feels like lifetimes later, Liz Delaney is still here with a new building and new mission of community care.

Small brick building with front window and mailbox. Trees above the roofline.

Our first location in North Main. Opened in 2005 at the corner of Main and Stone. There is a lot of love in this little building.

In 2009, the studio was growing and a second location was added on Augusta Road. Then the name Greenville Yoga was born. Both studios hosted world-renowned teachers such as Bryan Kest, Max Strom, Sean Johnson & the Wild Lotus Band and Doug Swenson to name a few.

On March 12, 2020 Liz purchased a little run down car repair shop in the neighborhood of Sans Souci in West Greenville, three days before shutting the physical yoga studio down due to COVID. On March 15, 2020 we went completely virtual with a few outdoor offerings here and there. In January 2021, we were able to reopen in our new yoga home. In a post-pandemic world, it is as though we are beginning again. New building, new (to you) teachers, new intention.

Our new OmHOME created and brought back to life in 2020. Air purifiers, garage doors that can open for fresh air, heated floors. You can’t ask for much more!

Our teachers met in 2021 and decided we wanted to be a place where you can come for quiet and stillness or connection and community. We wanted to offer space for both. We have also made a clear intention to be a place of service to the greater community. We know community care is just as important as self-care. With this in mind, we created non-profit Rain’s Garden. This project created a memorial garden behind our studio in honor of Lorraine Matheny, one of our teachers who passed away in 2020. All excess funds we raise will go to help pay for cancer treatments for those in need. In 2022, we donated $1,700 to Cancer Society of Greenville in Rain’s honor. We have also begun service projects leading yoga classes for the residents of Jasmine Road and the staff of Safe Harbor. It is an honor to be of service to our community each day. Thank you all for being here the last 18 years and supporting us along the way.
