Welcome home!

Walking into Greenville Yoga feels like a warm hug and a welcome home.

I had never felt such an energetic pull to a spot, nor had I ever experienced a feeling of "being home" in any studio before. When Liz says, "You belong here", you absolutely do.

I wasn't sure what I really wanted from Yoga Teacher Training (YTT). I knew that I wanted a more in depth understanding of my practice but I also knew that this was going to be a deep dive into my own personal world: spaces I had long ago left unattended, places I wouldn't normally allow myself to explore for fear of what I would find, and an energy within my inner world that had felt, for so long, completely disconnected.

I learned about GY through a friend that completed their YTT here. They convinced me it was worth the 2hr (sometimes more) drive from ATL to GVL. They promised it would be a worthwhile investment even if I never did anything with it professionally.

After my first weekend there, I knew they were right...and I also knew that this was going to be the beginning of a lot of deconstructing within my life.

The pace of the lessons never felt hurried or rushed. The connection points with other students felt very intentional and grounded. Liz brought in teachers that knew their craft well and understood how to share it with students from all backgrounds and at all levels.

Our class became very friendly very fast. We trusted each other. We connected with each other. We cried and celebrated with each other. We, as a class, cultivated an open environment for trustworthy feedback and intentional alignment philosophically and emotionally while Liz gently, but strongly, steered our ship.

I have the deepest sense of gratitude for my classmates and even more so to Liz.

She showed up for us in ways that most teachers don't have the guts to. She was vulnerable, empathetic, and kind. This isn't a money grab for the studio. This is an intentional way to spread the gifts of yoga with the world.

I know without a doubt that my life would be incredibly different had I not invested my time and energy here. GY YTT helps to pull back the layers that we so tightly hold closed. It encourages self exploration so in turn you can better understand the world you live in. Liz gave us so much space for creativity, contemplation, realizing and honoring our truths, as well as how to sequence a class that felt nourishing for all aspects of our human form. I cannot recommend this investment enough.

If you are willing to show up, Yoga will carry you through whatever season of your life you are in...and GY YTT taught me how to navigate all of the seasons both as a student and a teacher.
