Pete Cantrell
Pete came to yoga in his fifties after months of encouragement from his wife. He had been struggling with an ankle injury that required him to refrain from the walking and hiking that he loves. Pete was surprised to find how different yoga was from what he expected and how much he enjoyed it. He discovered a new love that now provides a wonderful counterpart to walking.
Pete completed 200 hour teacher training with Liz Delaney at Greenville Yoga in 2018. He began teaching shortly afterwards. Pete is grateful for the many things Liz helped him learn both in teacher training and in the many classes he has taken from her. Pete is also grateful for what he has learned from many other teachers whose classes he has taken. Pete continues to be a regular student at Greenville Yoga and to learn from his teachers.
Pete’s teaching is influenced by a story from his favorite college professor about three teachers and their responses to a small child struggling to open a door. The first teacher walks over and opens the door for the child. The second teacher takes time to show the child how to turn the handle, hold onto it and pull the door open. The third teacher sits down beside the child, providing encouragement and support as the child works to discover how to open the door. Pete will support and encourage you as you open the door to your better self through yoga and meditation.
