Greenville Yoga Cares
It feels like a lifetime since we gathered for our 20th Anniversary Party. But the effects are still lingering here. You feel it and see it when you arrive. Students sitting on the benches chatting. Teachers helping. Hugs given after a teary class. Whispers. Peals of laughter. We share the bitter, the sweet, the aches and pains, the joys and sorrow. If you are fortunate enough to be here, you know we truly believe we belong to each other.
We also know that true wellness of a community begins with kindness and care—on and off the mat. This month, in honor of Liz’s 50th, we are proud to support Harvest Hope Food Bank through our Greenville Yoga Cares campaign. In addition to a virtual food drive, all proceeds from our Saturday morning 9:15am class and Tuesday 4:30pm Yoga Nidra class will be donated directly to help feed families across the Upstate. Every class you attend makes a real impact—just one small act of mindfulness can help put food on a neighbor’s table. Join us in practicing with purpose, sharing abundance, and lifting our community together.
If you would prefer to shop and donate directly, Wade Hampton High and Fine Arts Center (my daugther’s school) are running a food drive for Greenville County School’s pantry. Details are below:
The FAC will be collecting items for the Drew Fowler Food Pantry, which is managed by the GCS social work team at MT Anderson. The list of items needed can be accessed here.
Donations can be dropped off at Wade Hampton High or Fine Arts Center.
If anyone you know is struggling, here are some additional resources you may share:
GVLfood.org: LiveWell Greenville has created this map and live resource for families to search for local food pantries and resources.
Call 211: United Way’s 2-1-1 resource line can connect them to nearby food assistance programs. Call 2-1-1 or text “help” or “ayuda” to 211-211.
