Better Together in 2025

My sweet friend, and business owner, Perrin White of Breathe Well, Be Well shared a newsletter last week that reflected on all she had created in 2025. It made me smile for her as I know how much she loves what she does and it made me celebrate her win alongside her. When we had coffee that weekend, I asked if I could borrow her idea. Luckily, she said yes!

Here’s what we’ve seen / done / offered and shared in this ever eventful year:

  • Held consistent weekly classes with an average of 30 classes per week, that’s about 1,560 classes this year. Thank you to our teachers for sharing their gifts with each of you.

  • Offered over 35 workshops that include Seasonal Yin, Continuing Education for Teachers & Students, Group Coaching, Community Gatherings, Yoga & You Pick, & Charitable Offerings. These extended practices included educational experiences, sound, meditation, and community gatherings that allowed students to go deeper and connect beyond the mat.

  • Graduated 24 new yoga teachers into the community. And this year, Liz rewrote the curriculum and launched a NEW Yoga Training experience that is currently being reviewed by the American Yoga Council to meet their certification standards.

  • Raised money for charity - almost $4000 - $3,974 to be exact. Through donation-based classes and special events, the community practiced generosity, extending yoga into meaningful support for others.

    • Jasmine Road - On top of Hanna leading the women of Jasmine Road every Friday for yoga, you raised $1,134. $1,000 provides 10 sessions of individualized trauma-informed counseling with a therapist who specializes in sexual violence to help one woman find healing.

    • Harvest Hope - Thank you to Deb and Jill for their time and gifts to teach in support of our local food bank. Together over six classes, they raised $1990. $234 provides food for one year to one student. Your donations supported 8 children to have food in their home for a full year. Personally, after a sweet conversation with my dad, I was able to match $1000 to give directly to Harvest Hope to use the funds as needed for their Upstate location. (And he also gave to his food bank in Ft. Worth… I love seeing the ripple effect in action!)

    • Upstate LGBTQ Chamber - We continue to support the work of the LGBTQ Chamber. We know that we are stronger together and are honored to be a part of their directory of queer friendly places to be. Their mission, “We are rewriting the narrative of the LGBT+ experience in the Upstate of South Carolina, to create a stronger, healthier community based on the shared appreciation for the diversity that defines and enhances us all.” Yes - You Belong Here!

    • Walt’s Waltz - Thank you to Kimmie for bringing this fundraiser and Community Yoga class to life. Walt Crooks graduated from our YTT in 2013 (same year as Kimmie and Susan!). He was kind and tender and a quiet soul. He lost his battle with depression and his mom created this organization to help destigmatize mental health matters and help others get support. In just one class, you raised $295. This allowed us to support one of their educational literacy programs in full!

  • Celebrated a community milestone- our 20th Anniversary in Greenville- with an amazing gathering.

  • Were one of two finalists in Post & Courier’s Best of Greenville 2025. Congratulations to our friends at Zen Rabbit Yoga. For two small, community-based schools to be in the top three yoga studios in Greenville, it’s a big deal. That means our students worked twice as hard to get us there!

Thank you to our students, teachers, leaders, and everyone who supports this space. Thank you for trusting us with your practice. Thank you for your generosity, your openness, and your commitment to growth. Greenville Yoga exists because of you—and it continues to grow because of the kindness and intention you bring into this community.

I am not sure what 2026 has in store for us, but I am incredibly grateful we are still here and you are still showing up! I don’t know who I would be or what I would do (truly) without you all. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for making this a year to remember. It’s been full of twists and turns but as we turn the corner to the new year, I am more inspired than ever with new offerings and personal insights that will allow us to wake up and shine a little brighter as we move around the world. (And maybe… just maybe… change the world by our presence and collective light.)

Cheers to you all!

With love ~ Liz
