Living the Five Virtues: A Study of the Self

  • Greenville Yoga 3221 Old Buncombe Road Greenville, SC, 29609 United States (map)

What if yoga became more than something you practice… and instead became the way you live?

This six-month immersion is for those who feel called to go beyond the physical practice and explore yoga as a path of personal growth, mindful living, and authentic leadership.

Whether you're a yoga teacher, dedicated practitioner, or simply someone seeking a more meaningful and intentional life, this course will help you bridge the gap between what you believe and how you live.

Together, we'll explore timeless yogic teachings that invite greater awareness, compassion, and integrity into every aspect of daily life. Through guided reflection, meditation, discussion, movement, and community, you'll cultivate the habits and mindset that allow your practice to extend far beyond the mat.

By the end of this journey, you won't simply understand yogic philosophy, you'll embody it. You'll leave with greater clarity, a personal code of conduct rooted in your values, and practical tools to help you navigate life with presence, purpose, and authenticity.

Our Journey Together

Each 4½-hour gathering follows Greenville Yoga’s signature learning framework, guiding you from awareness to embodiment.

  • Pause- Begin by slowing down through mindfulness meditation and creating space to become fully present.

  • Practice- Experience an all-levels yoga practice inspired by the month's virtue, allowing the teachings to be felt in both body and breath.

  • Reflect- Engage in thoughtful discussion, journaling, and community dialogue as we explore the month's book and yogic philosophy.

  • Integrate- Discover practical ways to weave each virtue into your relationships, work, and daily life through guided home practices and intentional reflection.

  • Live / Lead- Leave each gathering with renewed clarity, practical tools, and meaningful intentions that allow your practice to extend beyond the studio and into everyday life.

Themes explored:

  • Gratitude: Cultivate appreciation and abundance in everyday life.

  • Forgiveness: Release what no longer serves you and create space for healing.

  • Honesty: Live with authenticity and alignment between your inner and outer worlds.

  • Kindness: Deepen compassion for yourself and others.

  • Humility: Lead with openness, curiosity, and grace.

  • During our final weekend, you'll integrate everything you've learned by creating your own personal code of conduct- a meaningful guide to help you live your yoga every day.

Our time together includes:

• Six immersive 4½-hour gatherings

• Mindfulness meditation instruction and practice

• An all-levels yoga practice each month

• Guided discussion and book study

• Journaling and personal reflection

• Optional home practices between sessions

• A supportive community committed to growth and authentic connection

To deepen your experience, you'll read one carefully selected book before each gathering and receive optional home practices designed to help you embody the teachings between sessions. Please register at least two weeks before the program begins so you'll have time to receive and read the introductory article before our first gathering.

Leave with a practice that doesn't end when class is over, but becomes the way you live your life.
