Day Without Yoga Is a Day Without Light

Yoga has changed my life.  Not only do I see it, but my wife and friends see it too.  Before I discovered yoga I had some semi-serious health problems, but now I have no symptoms whatsoever.  Here are a few of the changes that have occured in my life thanks to a daily practice:

  • I am grateful day to day and moment to moment

  • I am more positive, relaxed and reflective

  • I always struggled with unworthiness and now I have more compassion for myself and others.

  • Now I understand self-forgiveness.  I can give myself credit where I never had it before.

  • I am also able to forgive people now with boundaries.  I know I can forgive, but I don't have to let them hurt me or run over me.

  • I have less peaks and valleys.

  • I smile more.

  • I listen more.

  • According to my wife and friends I have a softer tone of voice, I no longer swear and am much less sarcastic.

I am not close to where I want to be, but my daily yoga practice helps me find mindfulness in each moment.  I guess I don't have a destination in mind, but I am really enjoying the journey more and more each day.  Practicing daily allows me to take whatever I carry in and let it go (or at least soften its effects).  To me a day without yoga is a day without light.
