What a year for all of us - physical distancing and covering of our faces, diminished contact at work and at school, the uncertainty of what’s yet to come.
And what better time to deepen our mindfulness practice? Research shows that mindfulness meditation can improve well-being, counteract daily stress responses and may be helpful in reducing burnout, stress, anxiety and depression. Mindfulness offers us tools to find moments of calm, connection and even joy amidst it all.
Furman professors Meghan Slining and Min-Ken Liao are pleased to offer their, 4-session ‘Introduction to Mindfulness’ course to the Greenville Yoga community. In this course, we will practice many techniques for managing our stress and calming our nervous system. The course will also help us build the habit of using mindfulness in our life on a regular basis.
This interactive course meets for 75 minutes, once a week for 4 weeks. Each week we will introduce 2-3 new techniques and you will spend 10 minutes per day practicing during the week. Folks get a lot more out of the course if they stick with it from beginning to end, therefore attendance at all 4 sessions is highly recommended. Committed participation also helps us build a mindfulness community of support.
Course limited to 15 participants.
Cost: $40 for all four sessions
