Yin For the Win

Two spaces left!

Join Liz Delaney for an in-depth training Mindfulness and Yin Yoga. This will include basics of Taoist Yoga and the Five Element Theory, the energy body, a deeper look into poses and sequencing in the Yin tradition. We will be looking at yin from the perspective of body, heart, mind, spirit and energetics. All of Liz’s Yin teachings come from almost a decade of study with Sarah and Ty Powers (founders of Insight Yoga), as well as over a decade of personal meditation and Yin practice and teaching.

This course of study will allow you to confidently lead yin classes and know the how and why of the sequences or lenses to focus on when you are teaching this grounding practice. Perfect for those wanting a refresh for teaching, or those wanting to delve deeper into their personal practice of inner work. There will be plenty of time for community and meaningful conversations as we will explore the art of contemplative practice and mindful dialogue as well.

Teaching Yoga for Common Complaints: Shoulders & Neck

When Lynn asks her classes what they need each day, there are four top requests: low back, hips, shoulders and neck, and overall de-stress. This set of four classes will help yoga teachers lead so their students feel less pain. When we feel less pain we feel better, lighter and happier. These feelings trickle from us into the energy in our relationships as well. Each class is centered around a particular part of the body and ways to help it feel good!

Lynn brings over a decade of teaching into her Continuing Education offerings. She provides a clarity of instruction and a confidence that will put all students at ease as will teach you to do the same.

After a car accident, Lynn found herself in physical therapy for healing. She knows the limits pain can bring and found even more tools to allow her to currently live pain free.

Date: Saturday, September 2

Time: 2-4pm

Cost: $40

Anatomy of a Sun Salutation

Have you ever wondered why yoga classes place so much emphasis on a Sun Salutation? Have you ever even heard of such a thing? In this class, we will explore what a sun salutation is and the why – physically, esoterically, spiritually?

We will cover poses in isolation (variations and modifications), and teach you how to link poses to breath.

Poses included:

  • tadasana

  • standing forward fold

  • ½ way up, plank

  • Chaturunga

  • cobra / updog

  • down dog

After you are led through the varying poses, you will learn how to link each with the breath and create a version of sun salutation that is right for your body as you are today.
