I found this quote in January 2010 issue of Yoga Journal. It has stuck with me since I read it so I thought I would share with you.
If I thought too much about what had happened, I would get sad and angry, and I couldn’t forgive the mistakes that had been made. If I thought too much about the future, that was too overwhelming. But if I stayed right in the present moment, I could handle things with grace and with ease.
Stay present… Let go of thoughts of the past. Think about the future, but don’t spend so much time living there that you miss what is right in front of you. I like the idea of presence and think of this as a form of enlightenment. To me, an enlightened being is one who is present in everything they do. Presence. This is something we can all use a little more of.
