I know the importance of pausing while teaching a Yoga class so students can take a moment to notice how they feel.  But sometimes I forget the power of a pause in my own life until a pause is forced upon me.  Last week, we had to close the doors at Augusta Road due to a leak that ruined our floors.  When we closed the doors, we had to pause and take stock.  First, we checked in to see if we really wanted to keep the Augusta Road location.  After deciding the answer was yes, we took a lot of deep breaths and made a plan to move ahead.  Next, I realized how exhausted I was.  I gave myself permission to rest and spend time with my family.   This rest allowed me to breathe easier and discover creativity and inspiration that got lost along the way.  Moving forward, I know this extended pause will allow us to prioritize our time, give us renewed energy for our students and will allow us to make changes so we don’t get as fatigued as we have been.  The power of this pause has been HUGE!  Maybe I will take my own advice from now on, pausing throughout the day so I can “notice how I feel.”
