This post is inspired by Nyema’s visit to Greenville Yoga this past weekend. She states that mindfulness is an act of remembering- remembering patience, compassion, wisdom. She gave us this wonderful tool to help you find mindfulness in your day:
- Wake up in the morning and before you get out of bed create an intention for your day. (ex: “May I be patient with others today.”)
- Set an alarm on your stopwatch or phone to ring four times throughout the day. When it goes off, pause and breathe deeply. Remember your intention.
- At the end of the day, sit quietly and breathe. Then dedicate the work you did to someone else. (ex: “May the work I did today help heal my relationship with _______.)
I think this is a really wonderful way to use intention off your yoga mat. Practice it, let it become a habit, and maybe you will inspire someone else along the way.
